description
In 2019, Mike Horn and Borge Ousland undertook another ambitious expedition, aiming to cross the Arctic Ocean via the North Pole. They began their journey on September 12, 2019, departing from Nome, Alaska, aboard Horn’s sailing vessel, Pangaea. After sailing as far north as possible, they disembarked and commenced their trek across the frozen Arctic Ocean, each pulling sledges weighing over 180 kg. The expedition lasted 87 days, 57 of which were spent in total darkness due to the winter season. They faced numerous challenges, including fragile ice conditions and strong negative drifts that impeded their progress. Despite these obstacles, they successfully completed the crossing, marking a significant achievement in polar exploration. Media partners included Horn Media, NRK (Norway) and ROAM Media (Outside Inc).
Stein joined the team as an expedition cameraman where it was one of his most memorable adventures of his life thus far.
